Rather than automatically replacing your existing period front door, why not consider giving it a new lease of life through refreshing or refurbishing? Even if the unique character, patina, or period charm of your current door isn’t your main priority, it’s hard to overlook the significant cost savings of rejuvenating your existing door compared to installing a new one—especially when a new door would offer a similar appearance to what you already have. This way, you can achieve a fresh look while being savvy with your budget.
Payment Terms
- We require 50% deposit upon agreed contract.
- We require 50% upon completion.
- If your project includes glazing, the full cost of the glazing is requested in advance, along with your deposit payment.
- Any extra or additional works must be paid for in advance.
Your Project Step-by-Step
- Once your deposit is received, we will ask you to confirm your preferred paint colours, ironmongery, and glass specifications.
- After these details are finalised, your name and contract number are added to our ‘refresh board’. From here, you’ll move up the queue towards your project’s start date.
- Currently, there is a 30-day period from deposit payment to project start. If glazing is included, this usually extends the timeline by only a few weeks (and never more than 10 weeks, even for complex leaded double-glazed units).
- When all necessary materials are ready, we will notify you of your project’s start date at least 14 days in advance. If you are unable to begin at this time, your place at the top of the queue is held, and we may offer the slot to the next customer ready to proceed.
- Our skilled teams—each consisting of a Carpenter & Joiner as well as a Painter and Decorator—usually allocate two days for your project. However, in many cases, they complete the work in just one day, working until 18:00 if needed to finish promptly.
- All works are carried out on your door’s exterior, so there is minimal disruption inside your home.
- Our teams are fully equipped with gazebos, allowing them to work effectively regardless of the weather.
- After completion, one of our Project Managers will inspect the finished work and provide you with a small pot of your chosen paint colour for future touch-ups (please note, white paint is not supplied as it is used across multiple projects).
